Start ChatPrivacy Policy
The short version: PurrCam is built to collect as little as possible. You can start a 1-on-1 cam chat with no account, your live video is never recorded, and we do not sell personal data to anyone. The longer version, in plain English, is below.
What we collect
The technical basics any website needs to function: your IP address, device and browser type, approximate region derived from your IP, and usage events like which buttons get tapped. If you buy coins, the payment is handled by a third-party payment processor — we see a confirmation and an amount, never your full card number.
Because no account is required to start, most people use PurrCam without ever giving us a name or an email address.
Your camera and microphone
Your video and audio stream live between you and your match. PurrCam does not record, store, or review your cam sessions, and text chat inside a room is transient. We ask for camera and microphone access for one reason only: so the two of you can see and hear each other.
The other person in your room is a stranger on the internet, though — we cannot control what they do on their side, which is why our safety page tells you to keep identifying details out of frame.
What we never do
- Sell your personal data to advertisers, brokers, or anyone else.
- Record or archive your live video or audio calls.
- Build an advertising profile from your activity to follow you around the web.
Cookies and analytics
We use functional cookies that keep the site working, plus aggregate analytics that tell us things like how many people visited and which pages load slowly. Analytics data is looked at in totals, not person by person. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the core chat still works, though some conveniences may not.
The few who ever see data
Only the providers that keep PurrCam running: hosting and infrastructure, and the payment processor when you buy coins. Each is bound by contract to handle data only for the service they give us. Beyond that, we disclose information only when the law genuinely requires it.
How long we keep it
Operational logs are kept only as long as they are useful for running and securing the service, then deleted. Billing records are kept for the period tax and payment rules require. We hold nothing "just in case".
Your rights and choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you by emailing [email protected]. Since we collect so little, these requests are usually simple — tell us what you need and we will confirm once it is done. You can also stop using PurrCam at any time; there is no account to deactivate if you never made one.
Changes to this policy
If we change how data is handled, we update this page and the date at the bottom. Material changes get announced on the site, not buried. Questions about any of it go to [email protected] or the contact page.
